Nelson Software Solutions Backup In Time 2008 Backup to Local drive, Network drive or FTP server
If You Fail to Plan then You Plan to Fail Wish you could go back one hour and retrieve a good copy of that data? Now you can with Backup In Time Create Backup Sets and select your files and directories to backup and set the number of hours between backups. Note: You should always have your backups stored on separate media for safe keeping in case your hard drive crashes The screen-shots below show the various screen options This is the main screen. The first tab contains backup set information. This is where you select the directories and files to backup. You select your backup set name and the location that would be a local drive or network drive. From this screen you set how often in hours you wish to back up your data and how long you want to retain that data. The first Password is the one assigned to the compressed file. This file will remain in your backup set location as long as you have the days to retain it. Before putting the file up to your FTP site the program will encrypt the file using the FTP Encryption Password. Thus your data will be very safe on your FTP site. (For traditional strong encryption, the program uses AES (US Advanced Encryption Standard) secret-key encryption algorithm known as Rijndael which uses 256-bit keys) You can also see the last time the backup was performed and the next time it is scheduled in the bottom of the screen. Also if a backup is in progress or is being pushed to the FTP site you can see it's progress. The next screen shot will show the FTP connection tab. This is the screen where you enter your FTP information if you wish to put your backups up to your FTP server. You will check the box for FTP backups and then put the Host Address in or your FTP site. Then click on Normal if you have a user name and password to access. Then you can test your connection. Once connected you can also select the directory where you wish to put your backups. The next screen shots the Restore tab. This is the Restore tab where you can restore the files from your backup set location. This is the local or network drive where your backups are stored. You will always have these in addition to your FTP backup if enabled. To restore the entire backup select Restore All. If you only need a file out of the backup set you can select the individual file. The next screen shows the FTP Restore.
This shows your files at your FTP site that you can restore to your hard drive. You would restore to your hard drive and then restore the individual files from your hard drive where you restored from FTP. The next screen shows Options and activity messages.
This is the tab where you store your default information as well as view activity on the backup. Note you can select a default backup set to start. Also by clicking on Auto-Start Program at Login the program will be loaded in the Startup group in Windows so the program will auto start. The second Auto-Start Default Backup will start the backup routine without having to click on Start backup on the first tab. By doing this you do not have to worry about forgetting to click Start backups. You can also click the option for All Users or Just your login. You can also view the last activity and last FTP activity. Home, Software,
